Cancellation Policy

If You Need To Cancel

Mexico by Moto understands that plans change and circumstances don’t always work out for you to take a vacation when you wish, especially when we’re planning months or even a year into the future.  We’re also a very lean company that works with smaller family owned hotels, and vendors in Mexico, as such when we put rooms, equipment, or other services on hold and then cancel with them, we often need to pay them, especially if it's very close to the date of travel.  Saying all this, we have worked out with them what is fair, and what would be the optimal time to provide you with a 100% refund.  We appreciate your understanding.

  1. For our tours that run January through April.

    1. If you cancel before December 1st, we refund 100% minus the $500 initial deposit we ask for.

    2. If you cancel after December 1st, but more than 30 days before you travel it will cost 50% of the total price for your trip.

    3. If you cancel within 30 days of your tour date you will not receive a refund.

  2. All cancellation requests must be in writing via email to info@mexicobymoto.com

If Mexico by Moto Needs to Cancel

Planning for the future includes thinking about weather patterns, and other things that fall into the category of force majeure.  We cannot predict if hurricanes, earthquakes, or other force majeure situations might affect our tour destinations before we travel.   So we have some guidelines to help you understand how we handle these types of situations.  We appreciate your understanding.

Force Majeure

  1. If we need to cancel the trip more than 30 days before travel we can offer you a 100% refund, or a spot on a similarly priced trip of your choice.

  2. If we need to cancel the trip within 30 days of the tour start date, we can offer you a spot on a similarly priced trip of your choice.

  3. The only country’s travel bans we consider in making force majeure decisions is Mexico.

Low Participation

  1. If less than 5 people have signed up for a trip we will offer you a 100% refund, or a spot on a similarly priced trip of your choice.  If necessary, this decision will be announced 30 days prior to the travel date.

Arrival in Mexico City

Welcome to Mexico City! After you join us at our hotel in the Condessa Neighborhood, we'll have a chance to relax and enjoy the city before we head out into the mountains surrounding Mexico City on a Motorcycle adventure you'll treasure for a lifetime.  The area of Condessa where we'll be staying in is called Hippodromo, Racecource in English.  It's a great neighborhood for parks, dining, and drinks.  Feel free to walk around before dinner and take in my favorite place to stay in Mexico City.

Day 2

Day 2 image

Cruise to Taxco

Day 2 Sunday February 21

We start out with breakfast and a safety talk before we meet your bikes for the week. Mexico City is surrounded by mountains so we'll start your week off right and will pass Cuernavaca on the way to our destination. We ride out of the biggest city in North America and head to Magic Puelbo Taxco. Built on a mountain side, this is one of the silver capitals of Mexico.

Day 3

Day 3 image

Ride to Valle de Bravo

Day 3, Monday February 22

After breakfast we'll see if we need to adjust anything on your bikes before we head out to Valle de Bravo. Today will be super curvy mountain riding through forests, fields, and the clouds! Valle de Bravo sits on a high mountain lake and is famous as a Mexico City weekend getaway destination. While here, we have a special treat. At our bohemian hotel in Valle de Bravo, a shaman will take us through a temezcal ceremony. This sweat lodge experience is very special. A thousand turns get you there!

Day 4

Day 4 image

Ride to Angangueo

Day 4 Tuesday February 23

Twisty Mountain riding all day long is ahead of us as we head up to Angangueo to the largest Monarch Sancutary in the world. If we get in town early enough, we'll head up to one of the two main sights that same day. It will be chilly at night so remember to pack a sweater and jacket. Just like the the butterflies, you'll bundle up for a good night sleep before we head up to see them the next day.

Day 5

Day 5 image

Butterfly Sanctuary Day

Day 5 Wednesday February 24

Our only plan is to enjoy the mountains, go horseback riding, and hang out with all the butterflies. You can ride your bike, or take the chase van as we head to El Rosario and Sierra Chincua, the two different locations we'll visit. Billions of Monarch Butterflies migrate here annually. Just like you, they find out they love Michoachan.

Day 6

Day 6 image

Ride to Teotihuacan Pyramids

Day 6 Thursday February 25

We will wave goodbye to the Monarchs and head toward the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, the largest pyramid complex in Mexico. After a fast paced ride we'll settle into our last night on the road. Our hotel is across the street from the pyramids, and you'll have a chance to hear the Jaguar whistles as you tour the Avenue of the Dead. Make sure to get some rest because we have an early morning balloon ride over the pyramids.

Day 7

Day 7 image

Pyramids to CMDX

Day 7 Friday Februarey 26

We will wake up early for a special balloon ride across the valley and over the pyramids for one of the most spectacular views in the world. You can't imagine the view, it's just something that needs to be experienced. Afterwards, we'll have breakfast, hop on our bikes and ride back into Mexico City. Once we're all checked into our hotel, you better rest for a few minutes because we have a final event planned for you to go see the Lucha Libre wrestling!!! Your trip with us ends when you wake up Saturday morning, and we hope you'll already be planning your next trip with Mexico by Moto.
