This trip will put Mexican culture front and center. We start our trip at the Pyramids at Teotihuacan, ride through the two volcanoes visible from Mexico City, Popo and Izta, before we turn our sights on the Gulf Coast. Along the way we’ll ride an area known as the Atlas Mountains. Unlike their Moroccan counterpart, these mountains are verdant and stretch across high mountain valleys into the cane fields that stretch to the coast. This trip features everything, and we intend to take you places you’ve never heard of and give you a night on the town in North America’s largest and most cosmopolitan city, CDMX.

If You Need To Cancel
Mexico by Moto understands that plans change and circumstances don’t always work out for you to take a vacation when you wish, especially when we’re planning months or even a year into the future. We’re also a very lean company that works with smaller family owned hotels, and vendors in Mexico, as such when we put rooms, equipment, or other services on hold and then cancel with them, we often need to pay them, especially if it's very close to the date of travel. Saying all this, we have worked out with them what is fair, and what would be the optimal time to provide you with a 100% refund. We appreciate your understanding.
For our tours that run January through April.
If you cancel before December 1st, we refund 100% minus the $500 initial deposit we ask for.
If you cancel after December 1st, but more than 30 days before you travel it will cost 50% of the total price for your trip.
If you cancel within 30 days of your tour date you will not receive a refund.
All cancellation requests must be in writing via email to info@mexicobymoto.com
If Mexico by Moto Needs to Cancel
Planning for the future includes thinking about weather patterns, and other things that fall into the category of force majeure. We cannot predict if hurricanes, earthquakes, or other force majeure situations might affect our tour destinations before we travel. So we have some guidelines to help you understand how we handle these types of situations. We appreciate your understanding.
Force Majeure
If we need to cancel the trip more than 30 days before travel we can offer you a 100% refund, or a spot on a similarly priced trip of your choice.
If we need to cancel the trip within 30 days of the tour start date, we can offer you a spot on a similarly priced trip of your choice.
The only country’s travel bans we consider in making force majeure decisions is Mexico.
Low Participation
If less than 5 people have signed up for a trip we will offer you a 100% refund, or a spot on a similarly priced trip of your choice. If necessary, this decision will be announced 30 days prior to the travel date.

Each trip we have a kick off dinner so we can get to know everyone. On the last or night before the trip is over we have another special evening on us.
Once you get to our rally point at our hotel, we take care of accomodations and travel, we can help you sort out travel, but it's up to you to pay your own way.
During the day we'll stop for lunch, drinks, etc. Many times we may go out to dinner together, or you can venture out on your own. Nothing is mandatory.
Just like if you rent a car, you'll buy your own gas. The price can vary depending on the trip, but figure $10 to $15/day USD.
Sometimes parks or hot springs charge an entry fee.
We can't account for how you may wish to spend money on your trip, but for lunch, dinner, gas, tolls, etc., we usually recommend you bring an addtional $75 USD per day for a very comfortable trip.
Day One March 20, 2027
You'll arrive at our hotel across the road from the Pyramids of Teotihucan with enough time to throw your gear in a room and head over to explore the pyramids. This first night we have a kick off dinner planned and will introduce you to your bikes for the week. Afterwards we can check out the Aztec ball court and pool at our hotel. It's a good idea to get some rest, because we'll be up early the next morning to take a hot air balloon ride over the pyramids.
Day two March 21
Our Irish friend Sean has hot air balloons and we will meet with him before sunrise to take a trip over the Pyramids of the Sun, Moon, and Serpent and then head over to our hotel for breakfast. After we load up our gear in the chase van, we'll ride to the ever present volcanoes on the horizon of Mexico City; Popo and Izta. The last hour or so will be a treat as we ride the twisty roads up into the pine forest at Mexico's famous National Park. It will be chilly at night, so bundle up be ready for a night under the stars.
Day Three March 22
Today will be a spectacular ride. After we come off the Volcanoes, we'll take lunch near Puebla; did I mention Puebla is the home of Al Pastor? After lunch we'll make our way on one of Mexico's most famous stretches of highway through the town of Orizba to our destination in Cordoba. Veracruz State is home to the Atlas mountain range and is some of the most spectacular riding in the world. You'll come away with a new appreciation for its forests and mountains. Most vacationers never travel this part of Mexico, but we do!
Day Four March 23
More waterfalls and hot springs! After breakfast over-looking the main square in Cordoba, we'll stop by an old railroad tunnel/bridge with a fantastic waterfall (look for the pictures because I'm not a poet can't do it justice). In the afternoon, we'll edge along the pampa and cane fields as we snake along the front range of the Atlas Mountains to our thermal hot springs spot for the night. Nothing like a soak after a long ride.
Day Five March 24
From the Volcanoes to the coast... the Gulf will call you as we ride out of the mountains to this dune scape just north of the city of Veracruz. Set into the Coast, this spot offers ecotourism access to the lagoons, cliffs, and sand dunes where we can swim, paddle, and ride. Our little Casitas are a great way to spend the night on the Coast.
Day Six March 25
After one last dip in the Gulf, we'll head up to the city of Xalapa, the Capital of Veracruz. This town feels like San Francisco with its winding and hilly streets and a botanical garden in the cone of an extinct volcano which you will love walking through. It's a relaxing town for us to climatize to the Mountian and desert climate before we ride over the pass into Mexico City the next day.
Day 7 March 26
This is our last day on the road. You're going to feel all that Mexico is, from riding among the hundreds of extinct volcanic vents in the high Atlas Mountain Valleys, to buzzing through the heart of North America's largest city. But don't worry, if zipping through urban traffic isn't your thing (but we bet you can do it), we have a spot set up to turn your bike in before we get into the city, and you can ride the last hour or so in our chase van. For our last night, we'll stay in the Condessa Neighborhood at my favorite blue boutique hotel on the Parque Mexico. There's so much to do here: dinner, parks, lucha libre matches... let us know what you want to do and we'll make it happen.
